This lightweight mobility scooter is worth buying if you need something two people can lift into a trunk. At 52 pounds with a 20-mile battery range and a 6.2 mph top speed, it travels better than most. Skip it if you’ll be loading it alone.

Quick Verdict

52 pounds, three steps to fold, and a battery that pops out so you can charge it on the couch. Some of these scooters are heavy; this one isn’t. Two people get it into a trunk without a fight.

Buy if you:

  • travel and need a scooter that goes in a car trunk
  • have a second person around for the lift
  • park in a lot with no outlet and need the battery to come indoors
  • weigh up to 330 pounds and have hills on your route

Lightweight Mobility Scooter Under 52 Pounds

Most mobility scooters run 70, 90 pounds, which sounds fine until you’re trying to wrestle one into a Camry trunk at a parking lot curb. This lightweight mobility scooter is 52 pounds, enough of a difference that two people can actually manage it without a ramp, a carrier, or a second vehicle.

Two people pick this up and put it into a trunk, front door to destination, no ramp, no hitch carrier, no van conversion required. That’s the entire argument for buying it over something heavier.

Folding It Down Takes Three Moves

Two levers, one on each side of the seat. You pull them out and fold the seat straight down. Once the seat is down, the basket folds up as well.

The front basket also comes off completely for portability. It has its own handle so you can carry it around, and a drawstring so you can seal everything up and not lose any of your items. That’s the part I didn’t expect to care about and now do, because walking into a store with your bag in hand instead of leaving it open on the scooter is just better.

Last step is unscrewing the handlebars. And then this is as compact as it gets. There are two handles, one on each side, so you can lift or wheel it from whichever side you’re standing on.

The Battery Comes Out, and That Matters More Than You Think

You get two ways to charge the 24-volt battery, and the second one is the useful one. Option one, leave the battery installed and plug the included charger into the wall. Roughly five hours to a full charge.

Option two is where most buyers get caught out. There’s a little clip underneath that releases the battery, so you can pull it, carry it inside, and plug it in there. If you’re in an apartment, a hotel room, a condo garage with no accessible outlet, that’s the difference between a scooter that charges and one that doesn’t. People shop these on range alone and forget to ask where the thing is going to spend the night.

Range is about 20 miles on a charge, realistically, a grocery run plus a park walk plus a hardware store stop before the battery becomes a conversation.

330 Pounds, 15-Degree Hills, 6.2 MPH

It carries up to 330 pounds with no problems at all, and it’ll climb hills up to 15 degrees. Top speed is 6.2 miles per hour, which is a brisk walk and then some.

There are speed settings on the front, one through six, so you can cap how fast it’ll go. That’s the setting I’d use for anyone newer to a scooter, or for indoor aisles where 6.2 is more speed than a grocery store wants. There’s a horn and a headlight too, so driving after dark isn’t off the table.

What to Sort Out Before the First Ride

It comes pretty much all assembled. You just have to put together the basket and the armrests, and other than that it’s ready to go right out of the box. Charge it first, five hours, then ride.

The one thing I’d think hard about is the lift. Light for a mobility scooter is not the same as light. If the person using it lives alone and has to get it into a trunk without help, 52 pounds is still 52 pounds, and unscrewing handlebars on every trip is a step you’ll feel after the tenth time. With a second set of hands, it’s a non-issue. If that’s your situation, this is an easy one to go check out.

Pros

  • 52 pounds, light enough for two people to trunk-load
  • Folds in three steps with no tools beyond the handlebar screws
  • Removable 24V battery charges inside, away from the scooter
  • Detachable basket with a carry handle and drawstring closure
  • 330 lb capacity, 15-degree hill climb, six speed settings plus horn and headlight

Cons

  • Still a two-person lift into a trunk, not a solo job
  • Handlebars have to be unscrewed every time you want it fully compact
  • Basket and armrests need assembling before the first ride

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit in a sedan trunk, or do I need an SUV?

Folded with the handlebars unscrewed and the basket removed, this is as compact as it gets, which is what gives it a shot at a sedan trunk. Measure your trunk opening first, since the deck length is the limiting dimension, not the height. The detachable basket also lets you load the two pieces separately.

Can I take the battery on a plane?

Check with your airline before you book. It’s a 24V battery that clips out from underneath, which is exactly the setup airlines want for mobility devices, but every carrier has its own watt-hour limits and paperwork. Call ahead rather than finding out at the gate.

How do I clean it?

Wipe-down only, and keep water away from the battery compartment and the tiller controls. The basket comes off with its drawstring liner, so that’s the one piece you can deal with separately. Nothing here goes in a sink.
