How this review was made: written from my own video review of this product. Every opinion here is my own, from using it myself.

Quick Verdict

My son had it first, and I only got a turn once he took a break. We played with it all day outside, over wood, grass, bricks and rocks, with no connection drops anywhere in the yard. It’s an advanced RC car aimed at adults, not a kid’s toy.

Buy if you:

  • know someone who owns a Cybertruck and needs a birthday or Christmas gift
  • want to run an RC car over grass, bricks and rocks instead of just pavement
  • hate stopping when one battery dies
  • like light shows, 16 colors plus a cycling mode
DrivetrainFour-wheel drive, brushless
Batteries2 included, each with charge indicator
Body shells2 interchangeable
Light colors16, plus an all-color cycling mode
Age rating8+

My Son Wouldn’t Give Me a Turn

My son wouldn’t let go of it, I had to wait for him to take a break before I could even touch the controller. He loved it that much. We were outside all day with it, and this thing goes everywhere. Wood, grass, bricks, rocks. It’s truly all terrain. You can see it on Amazon if you want the current configuration.

Then it got dark and we kept driving. The lights are amazing. There are two separate light zones, the underglow and the headlights, and you change them independently.

What Two Batteries and Two Shells Buy You

Two batteries mean you never actually stop: one runs while the other charges, and each pack has a small indicator light so you can glance over and know exactly which one needs to go back on the charger. That single feature removes the biggest frustration with budget RC cars.

The two shells let you protect the nicer one while kids wreck the other, no need to replace the whole car. If my kids are playing, I put one on. If I’m driving, I put the other on, because I’m a little more careful than they are. They just slam this thing into the wall, and it’s pretty durable.

The trim knob stops the wandering that kills cheap RC cars: dial it in and it drives straight without fighting the controller. Most cheap RC cars veer off to one side and you fight the controller the whole time. Dial this in and it drives straight. Three features, dual batteries, swappable shells, trim knob, each solving a specific problem cheap RC cars ignore.

Range held solid across the full yard with zero connection drops. My yard isn’t that big, but I drove it all over with no connection issues.

The Battery Swap Is a Four-Clip Chore

Battery swap demands four clips, a cover lift, and an unscrew, not a ten-second job when a kid is waiting. You pull four little clips off the shell, lift the cover, then unscrew the battery before you can get it out. It’s not hard, it’s just not a ten-second swap when a kid is standing there waiting.

Getting Rolling the First Time

Charge the battery, flip the trim knob to straight, then cycle the 16 light colors or all-color mode, three steps to go. That’s the whole startup. Once you get the four clips off and the battery screwed in, the alignment knob is what turns it from a toy that wanders into a car that tracks straight. Then start cycling the light colors. There are 16, plus the one option that cycles through all of them, so the color is constantly changing while it drives.

It’s an Adult’s RC Cybertruck With an 8+ Label

This is an adult RC car masquerading under an 8+ label, the ideal gift for a Cybertruck owner, not a starter toy. It’s not a kid’s toy. The rating says 8+, but I think it’s aimed more at adults than kids. If you have someone in your life who owns a Cybertruck, this is an awesome little gift for Christmas or a birthday. Even without the Cybertruck tie-in, the brushless motor and all-terrain grip make it more capable than most RC cars at this price, the truck branding just gives you a built-in excuse to buy it as a gift rather than for yourself. Pros

  • Handles wood, grass, bricks and rocks without getting stuck
  • Two batteries, each with a charge indicator
  • Trim knob keeps it driving straight instead of veering
  • 16 light colors plus a cycling mode, headlights and underglow set separately
  • Survived my kids slamming it into walls

Cons

  • Four clips plus a screw to reach the battery
  • Too advanced for younger kids despite the 8+ label

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you drive it indoors?

You can, but it’s built for outside. Everything I ran it on was yard surfaces, and my kids hit walls with it more than once indoors would allow. Give it open space.

Do the shells get damaged easily if it crashes?

Mine held up. That’s part of why I like having two shells, you keep the nicer one for yourself and let the kids beat on the other. Replacing one doesn’t mean replacing the car.

Is it a good gift for an actual Cybertruck owner?

Yes, that’s the ideal buyer. It reads as a collector’s piece more than a toy, which is why I’d hand it to an adult first. Christmas or birthday, it lands.

Loses half a star on the four-clip battery access and an age rating that oversells how kid-friendly it is. Everything else, the all-terrain grip, the trim knob, the second battery, is better than I expected from an RC car this size. A tool-free battery door would make it a five.
