This folding electric bike is worth buying if you commute short distances and need something that collapses small enough for a trunk or a train. It covers about 28 miles per charge, tops out at 20 mph, and folds in half at roughly 65 pounds. Buy it for the commute, not for long-range touring.

Quick Verdict

It’s a little clumsy to pick up at 65 pounds, but once it’s in the trunk that’s done, you’re not thinking about it again. For a short commute, 28 miles and 20 mph is plenty, and the fold is the whole reason to buy this over a regular e-bike.

Buy if you:

  • commute a short distance and want to skip driving or parking
  • need to store it in an apartment, trunk, or train car
  • ride mixed terrain, road, sidewalk, grass
  • want adjustable seat and handlebars for different riders in one household

The Trunk Test Decided It for Me

The fold is a three-step sequence: handlebars drop, frame hinges in half, done, and the whole thing slides into a trunk in under 30 seconds. I timed it. That’s the moment the buying decision makes sense, because a regular commuter e-bike doesn’t do that and a folding electric bike that won’t actually fit your trunk is just a more expensive problem. At about 65 pounds, picking it up is a little clumsy, there’s no way around that, but once it’s folded it slides into a trunk without a fight. Pop it back out, unfold it, and you’re riding in under a minute.

Where This Bike Runs Out of Road

28 miles is the ceiling, and 20 mph is as fast as it goes, full stop. That’s the trade-off for a frame small enough to fold in half. If your commute is 15 miles each way with hills, you’re cutting it close on a single charge. This isn’t built for long-distance touring or for someone who wants to outrun traffic on a main road. It’s built for short trips, and once you’re past that range, you’re back to walking it in or finding an outlet.

Unlocking the Battery and the First Ride

Setup out of the box takes about ten minutes: dial in seat height, adjust the handlebars, and you’re done, both are fully adjustable, which matters if more than one person in your household is riding it. The battery locks into the frame and charges in place, so you’re not forced to pull it every night; unlock it only when you’d rather run the cord inside than out to the bike. There’s an LED screen on the handlebars showing current charge, a headlight for night rides, a phone holder, and a small bell. The disc brakes on front and back are responsive right away, and you can tighten or loosen them depending on how firm you want the feel.

Who Actually Needs This One

If you don’t live far from work and just need to get there quick, this is built for exactly that. There are about eight or nine shock absorbers around the frame, so bumps on the road, sidewalk cracks, or rough grass don’t translate into a rough ride. I rode it across pavement and grass back to back and the difference in feel was barely noticeable. The eight or nine shock absorbers around the frame are doing real work here, I rode pavement to grass and back and barely registered the transition. That’s the actual pitch: not the fastest, not the longest-range, but a bike that handles a mixed urban commute and then folds out of your life until tomorrow morning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I charge the battery without removing it from the bike?

Yes. The battery locks into the frame and charges in place, or you can unlock it and bring it inside separately if you’d rather not run a cord out to the bike.

Will this fit in a small car trunk?

It folds in half plus the handlebars fold down, so it compresses down small enough for most trunks. At about 65 pounds it takes a bit of effort to lift in, but it fits.

Does it handle grass and uneven sidewalks okay?

Yes, the eight or nine shock absorbers around the frame smooth out bumps whether you’re on pavement, sidewalk, or grass. It’s not built for aggressive off-roading, but mixed urban terrain is no problem.

Loses ground on the lift, 65 pounds out of a trunk isn’t graceful and it’s the one real complaint from actually using it. Everything else, the fold, the brakes, the shock absorbers, performs as advertised. Skip it if your commute runs past 28 miles; for a short ride and easy storage, the weight penalty is the only real trade-off.
